The A Song of Ice and Fire series is one of my favourites of all time. The depth of the characters and storylines is something i'm truly inspired by. However, the series is unfinished, and one of the speculated reasons for the big wait is the complexity of plotlines and Point-of-View characters that will need to appear in the next book, The Winds of Winter.
Because of this, a YouTuber I watched proposed splitting that book into two, each taking place on different continents, as the depth of plot and characters is almost evenly split currently. The proposed title for this book was A Sunset in the East. As a lover of the series and of design, I was instantly inspired by this. So, I decided to make a book cover and spine for this proposed book based on the name. Of course, this is not a real book, and is essentially a fanart design project.
The colour of orange was chosen to link with the name, the heat of the area this book would take place in (which is near the equator), and because orange has not been used as a book colour yet. The harpy mask used in the centre is for symbolizing of the harpy in Meereen, where the most important storyline in this continent takes place. The mask can also be a metaphor for the deceit Daenerys, the central character of this proposed novel, is facing.
In the EVIDENCE section, you'll also see how this book fits in with the existing series and the widely-accepted fanart of the remaining books.
EVIDENCE:

VERDICT:
I don't often replicate the styles of existing work, but I'm pleased about how this turned out; it was largely an exercise to see if I could create work for existing brands.
