CASE SUMMARY:
The Woods is the first ever short film that I've made. It was for a school project, but I'm still entirely captivated by it. I believe this is influenced by its sequel, The Realms. The two films meld together beautifully, and I'm ever proud of them.
The Woods was a simple idea of isolated horror that I wanted to bring to life. I had a forest nearby that I thought would feel perfect for the film, and I think it does.
The plot is very simple, and yet I still think it's an interesting concept. The choice to have the character never speak is deliberate, and I believe it adds to the mysterious feeling. It highlights the ending, though I won't spoil that.
EVIDENCE:
The Woods is a dark escape into, well, the woods. It captures a simple message: always be alert.
VERDICT:
The Woods was the start of my short film journey. Because of that, I am forever grateful for it.
